Economic Forum of the Industry of Fashion

In Spring 2011 XIII Economic Forum of the Industry of Fashion included 6 events with over 400 participants from Russia, Italy, Estonia and Byelorussia. Representatives of over 85 retail store chains, department stores and shops came to the Forum from St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Ivanovo, Vologda, Moscow, Murmansk, Cherepovets, Petrozavodsk, Velikiy Novgorod, Pskov, Kemerovo, Arkhangelsk, Nizhnekamsk, Omsk, Kitov, Ulan-Ude and other Russian cities.

The programme:

  • Specialized Conference «The future of Russian clothes and textile market: cooperation of producers and traders» Speaker is Andrey Magarik, editor-in-chief of «» (Saint Petersburg)
  • Seminar «Fashion trends», Speaker is Luba Popova, professor of Milan New Academy of Fine Arts (NABA, Italy)
  • Training «Profit markup of a fashion company. The second breath». Speaker is Olga Kuznetsova, owner and Director of “Rikki-Tikki” store chain (Moscow)
  • Master-class «Equipment and programmes for embroidering». Speaker is “Transmetall” company (Ivanovo).
  • Interactive training «Management and assortment planning in the shop of fashion garments. Mathematics of buying». Speaker is Andrey Burmatikov, director of the consulting department «Fashion Consulting Group» (Moscow)
  • Training «Choice and effective use of communicational channels for promotion of a fashion company». Speaker is Andrey Magarik, editor-in-chief of «» (Saint Petersburg)

Special Buyer Programme

In Spring 2011 a Special Buyers Program was participated by 78 trade companies from St.-Petersburg, Pskov, Petrozavodsk, Vyborg, Vologda, Mikhailovka, Cherepovets, Great Novgorod, Cheboksary, Kaliningrad, Volkhov, Borovichi, Nizhnekamsk, Dmitrova, Frjazino, Yaroslavl, Kirov, Moscow, Torzhok, Klintsy, Ivanovo, Smolensk, Shuya, Krasnodar, Ulan-Ude, Saratov, Balakovo, Penza, Michurinsk.

In frames of the Special Buyers Program a contest for “The most active buyer” was organized. The winner of the autumn 2011 became Valentina Amanova, the purchasing manager of the “Pyshnaya krasavitsa” Internet shop. She was awarded a special prize – Certificate for participation in all events of Economic Forum of Fashion Industry.

In the frames of the trade fair a contest of FASHION BUYER AWARDS was organized. The contest was participated by buyers of North-Western Russian region high evaluated by exhibitors. Criteria for evaluation were reliability, financial discipline, paying capacity, awareness of consumer’s demand at sales points, professionalism in assortment management, awareness of garments and its promotion onto the market. The winners of the contest have become trade companies that had got the maximum of voices during open vote on

National exposition of Finland and Denmark

In spring 2011 at the Fashion Industry International Fair a national exposition of Finland and Denmark was organized. Exhibitors of the exposition were Finnkarelia, Nini’s Belts, Hopler, House of Pardon. On March 16 the exposition’s presentation for Russian buyers and mass media was arranged. 20 fashion specialists and trade visitors were registered to visit the event. They were from St.-Petersburg, Dmitrov, Petrozavodsk, Kaliningrad, Smolensk, Yaroslavl, Vologda, Moscow, Frjazino, Kirov, Saratov, Michurinsk, Pskov, Great Novgorod.

National exposition of Bulgaria

In spring 2011 at Fashion Industry International Fair a National Exposition of Bulgarian Companies was presented. On March 17 at stands of Bulgarian companies was organized a presentation of Boriana, Vayana, Yasha and Fabiana for traders and mass media. There were 19 trade companies registered to visit the presentation. They were from Pskov, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Cheboksary, Kirov, Moscow, Petrozavodsk, St.-Petersburg, Cherepovets, Michurinsk, Great Novgorod.

National exposition of Italy

In spring 2011 at Fashion Industry International Fair a National Exposition of Italian Companies “Area Italia” was presented. At the exposition visitors could see new collections of ladies’ and men’s clothes, outwear, clothes for home and accessories presented by Lovini (TM Le donne di Mariella Burani), DPM furs, Interpiume (TM OHO), Pan Am, Calze Elit, Camiceria Gandolfi, Dal Mondo, Nick Bronson, Vema, Sandra Milani, Paola Todesco.
On March 17 a Day of Exclusive Italian Fashion - Fashion Exclusive was organized in cooperation with Italian Fair Service. In the Corinthia Nevskiy Palace Hotel 32 buyers of up-middle and high price segment from Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Cherepovets, Moscow, Smolensk, Cheboksary, Borovichi had B2B meetings with owners of Italian companies Lovini, Vema, Interpiume (TM OHO), Carlo Actis (TM Cabirio). The event was followed with an evening fashion show of new collections from Vema, Lamperti, Gigliotti, Anna Cristy.

Competition of creative projects "GENERATION NEXT"

In spring of 2011 “Farexpo” Exhibition group together with Bureau of Innovative Educational Technologies hold the Fifth International competition of creative projects «GENERATION NEXT» in which over 50 young experts of the fashion industry took part. The following high educational schools took part in the competition:

  • the St.-Petersburg State Art-Industrial Academy of A.L.Shtiglitsa
  • the St.-Petersburg State University of Service and Economy
  • the St.-Petersburg State University of Technology and Design
  • the Leningrad State University of A.S.Pushkin
  • the Ivanovo State Textile Academy
  • Petrozavodsk KGPU
Rewarding of the winner will take place at Solemn opening the “Fashion Industry. Autumn-2011» on September 8, 2011. All winners are awarded by honourable certificates.
