44^th International Trade Fair Fashion Industry was held in Peterburgskyi SCC from 9^th till 12^th of October, 2014. Organizer is exhibition company FarEXPO.

The Fashion Industry exhibition is the main event for the industry in North-West region of Russia. This event gathered together 230 companies from 15 countries this autumn on the area over 10 000 sqms. 34% of all exhibitors were foreign companies, 42% from Russians exhibitors were companies from St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region.

The Governor of St. Petersburg Georgyi Poltavchenko visited the exposition:

- This exhibition has become a permanent platform where all important industry’s problems can be discussed. During first 6 months of year 2014 our enterprises have increased the volume of their production more than in 2 times. And of course the government of the City is interested in developing of the fashion industry in St. Petersburg.

Mr. Poltavchenko has discussed the possibilities of future cooperation and develop of economic and culture connections between St. Petersburg and Region Campania with Italian government.

The national exposition of Italy was one of the biggest at the Fashion Industry exhibition this autumn. Clothes, shoes and accessories were presented by 43 Italian companies. It was the first time when enterprises from region Campania participated the fair in the North-West region of Russia. The head of delegation- General Director of Region Campania for economic activity- Doc. Francesco P. Iannuzzi said in Region Campania there were many talents who had been obtained in their home country. Now we wanted our region had become known in Russia as well.

One of the central events at the exhibition is taken by Economic Forum of the fashion industry. The Program was open by a conference “Dead Calm in the Market: Frozen Demand, Hot Niches, Price Gaps and Informal Fields”. During the event government of St. Petersburg together with specialists has discussed problems of apparel industry in the city. The government of St. Petersburg announced the initiative of creating the show-room for designers of the city. This project is going to start in December 2014. Also many another different trainings, seminars and master-classes were holding during the Forum.

The future of Russian fashion industry was represented in exposition of international open contest for young designers “Generation NEXT”. The winner of The Costume nomination and the laureate of the National Fashion Awards has become Lidia Semenova with her collection “Fontana”. The best work in the Textile nomination was “the Spirit of Venice” by Inessa Egorova, in Costum’s Design nomination- Alena Ivanova.

Daily business-consultations were held at the Trade Fair. It was organised under support of consulting company ART. Dozens of people asked practical advices from the consultant. The most current problems were budget planning, assortment’s management, promotion etc. As the result of the Vacancies’ Fair people could find available vacancies of the fashion market, meet with HR of big branch companies

Autumn edition of the Fashion Industry exhibition was visited by 11 190 people, over 47% from professional visitors were buyers and specialists.
